With a strong portfolio of significant projects to deliver in the year ahead, an immediate opportunity now exists for an experienced or Senior Systems Engineer with expertise or interest in PLC, SCADA, MES, and data analytics to join their growing Sydney team.
This customer-facing role brings an interesting and varied workload of project work. With a direct reporting line to the Country Engineering Manager, the successful candidate gain exposure to the latest automation technologies and will have the opportunity to:
- Design, program, and troubleshoot control systems using Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell's Studio 5000 (as well as other platforms).
- Develop and configure modern SCADA solutions using Siemens WinCC, Aveva Plant SCADA, and Ignition Perspective.
- Implement Python for automation, data analysis, and industrial applications.
- Utilize Docker and other tools to deploy scalable, containerized industrial solutions.
- Manage version control with Git, Octoplant, and other tools for collaborative development and change tracking.
- Integrate REST APIs for PLC-cloud communication and advanced reporting.
- Work with Linux OS to manage edge devices and industrial servers efficiently.
- Collaborate with IT and operations teams to drive digital transformation in manufacturing.
- Develop mobile first UI/UX design.
About you
You have tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or similar and can demonstrate strong design and development experience in ladder logic PLC programming (using at least one of - Siemens TIA Portal, Allen-Bradley, Schneider, Rockwell, Omron) for industrial automation environment application. As well as having excellent client-facing communication skills, you are ambitious to broaden your technical experience and can already demonstrate:
- Expertise in SCADA development (using at least one of - Siemens WinCC, Aveva Plant SCADA, Ignition).
- Hands-on experience with Python, Docker, and Git.
- Understanding of networking, cybersecurity, and cloud integration for industrial applications.
- Knowledge of Linux-based systems for industrial automation.
- Strong time-management skills
- Valid driving licence
- Existing working rights for Australia
Note: Experience in a Food & Beverage (Dairy, Brewing, Ready to Drink (RTD) or Alcoholic Ready to Drink (ARTD), pharma, petrochem or water treatment environment would be highly regarded but is not essential.
