The Client:
Our client is one of Australias most dynamic Systems integrators working on exciting large billing projects that bring all aspects of order fulfilment, packaging automation and materials handling together to service some of the largest brands in the world.
Due to continued growth, they are now looking for a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join their team.
Reporting to and working alongside the CEO, the new team member will primarily focus on outlining market strategies, building new business and establishing key partnerships that drive revenue growth of solutions in the 3PL, e-commerce, retail, fashion and transport & logistics markets.
Your Responsibilities:
- Identify, develop, and maintain sales prospects of sufficient quality and quantity to achieve sales and contributions budgets.
- Analyse the market to identify opportunities, trends and challenges within the assigned markets.
- Competitor analysis and tracking market dynamics to inform strategic decision-making.
- Develop a comprehensive business development plan, outlining market entry strategies, target customer profiles and key performance indicators.
- Implement effective sales strategies to drive revenue growth and market share.
- Generate and nurture a pipeline of qualified leads, converting them to satisfied customers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers.
- Prepare and deliver compelling business proposals, presentations and conduct product demonstrations to prospective clients.
- Collaborate with internal teams including marketing, engineering and project management teams to ensure seamless coordination and execution of projects and successful delivery of solutions.
- Maintain accurate reporting and analysis of sales activities, client interactions and market research to support business growth.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows and conferences to build brand preference and industry network.

About you:
You are highly motivated, well-organised and able to build strong relationships naturally with people and enjoy helping clients solve problems using automation technologies.
You have:
A track-record in B2B sales/ business development, ideally in industrial automation or conveyor/ materials handling systems or AMRs (Autonomous Mobile Robots) or other industry sector where mechanical aptitude and attention to detail are essential.
- The ability to consult enthusiastically and efficiently with customers to investigate their current and future needs.
- At least 5 years sales experience in B2B markets.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong negotiation skills, experience using a consultative selling approach.
- A strong focus on customer needs, delivery on customer expectations and customer satisfaction will be dominant in this role.
- Highest ethical standards and integrity.
- Current Australian drivers licence.
- Solid Microsoft Office ability.
- CAD Proficiency: basic skills to create preliminary design concepts would be ideal (preferred but not essential).
