Warehouse Operative/Forklift Driver Required Bedford
Job Description:
A metal manufacturing business based in Bedford are currently looking for an experienced Warehouse Operative/Forklift Driver to join their busy team.
The successful candidate will perform a key role in carrying out efficient warehouse operations and ensuring effective stock management is maintained.
- Booking in Goods: Responsible for the accurate systematic booking in and recording of incoming goods using computer system
- Forklift Counterbalance Operation: Safely operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck efficiently moving and organising materials within racking system
- Stock Control: Monitoring and managing stock levels, ensuring that all inventory is readily available and accurately accounted for as required
- Delivery driving: Carrying out occasional deliveries to customer sites using company flat-bed van
- Materials processing: Using a tape to accurately measure metal stock and cut to required length using the bandsaw (training provided)
- Making wooden packaging crates and pallets: Using nail guns, saws and screwdrivers etc. to make basic crates and pallets to load customer orders onto / into
Experience required:
- Previous experience of working in a warehouse environment within a manufacturing / processing environment is preferred but not essential
- Familiarity with using a computerised stock control system is advantageous
- A valid (or recently expired) Counterbalance Forklift licence along with the experience of operating a Forklift confidently and safely is required
- Full (manual) UK Driving Licence is needed
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills are requested
Additional Info:
- Hours; 7.30am-4.00pm Monday to Friday
- Rate: £13.00-£14.50 per hour
- Start Date: ASAP
