Responding to this, an immediate opportunity now exists for an experienced Project Manager. The new appointee will lead the management of full project life cycles from initiation, through planning, design and implementation to successful client handover for projects typically ranging in value from $NZD2.5m - 6m. Specifically, key responsibilities will include:
- Support the development of tenders, proposals, and Offers of Service.
- Manage internal and external stakeholders to ensure the project progress is maintained and interests are aligned.
- Coordinate design workshops and reviews and ensure quality of deliverables.
- Establish design strategy and phases appropriate to the complexity of the project to balance risk and timely progress.
- Work collaboratively with internal colleagues to ensure engineering works are appropriately resourced.
- Coordinate works to enable a clear pathway for engineering team, and appointed contractors to successfully deliver the works.
- Carry out on-site construction monitoring and documentation to ensure safety measures are being carried out, and construction is delivered to specification.
- Establish and maintain weekly updates to project programmes in consultation with Project Managers.
- Review and escalate programme and budget slippage and risk.
- Maintain project reporting to the client and progress reporting.
- Establish and maintain project controls dashboards to support regular review meetings.
- Making payment claims in alignment with payment terms and/or contracts and progress.
- Review and ensure bonds, retentions, and insurances are maintained and valid.
- Issue of project communications including variations.
- Draft payment certificates for sub-trades.
About you:
To thrive in this role, it is likely that you already have 5-10 years of working experience which incorporates experience of Project Managing the delivery of large scare industrial automation solutions. In addition to your tertiary qualifications in engineering, project management, or a related field you also are/have:
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong internal, external stakeholder and client engagement skills.
* A track record of working with autonomy and the time management skills required to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
* Ability to identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
* Understanding of industrial automation systems and technologies.
* Demonstrated experience in design management, procurement, construction management, and commissioning.
* Experience in managing subcontractors.
* Strong commercial acumen with experience with developing and managing project budgets and project variations.
* Familiarity with procurement processes and contract management.
* Driving licence.
* Working rights for NZ
Highly regarded / not essential
* An ability to carry out estimating.
* Proficiency with project management software (e.g., MS Project / P6).
* Experience with NZS 3910.
