The Client:
Our client is a subsidiary to an established, trusted parent company ($100m USD t/o) who manufactures and supplies global racking solutions to big brand retailers that are household names in the furniture/ home furnishings and grocery sectors.
Due to strong market demand and growth, they are now looking for a project savvy and strategic Business Development Manager to join their Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane office. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the new team member will be fully supported and given high autonomy to develop new market strategies to acquire large scale racking and warehouse automation projects to drive greater revenue to the business.
Your Responsibilities:
* Identify, develop, and maintain sales prospects of sufficient quality and quantity to achieve sales and contributions budgets.
* Facilitate sales quotes and project discussions on delivery with internal team and integrator and end-user clients to ensure risk and compliance is met along with profitability.
* Competitor analysis and tracking market dynamics to inform strategic sales decision-making.
* Develop a business development plan to meet key performance indicators.
* Take ownership of and achieve quarterly and annual sales targets.
* Implement effective sales strategies to drive revenue growth and market share.
* Generate new leads and nurture/ upsell to an existing strong pipeline of clients converting them to loyal customers.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers.
* Develop a deep understanding of static racking along with AS/RS automation, 4-way shuttle carts and miniloads.
* Collaborate with internal teams including project management and design to ensure seamless coordination and execution of business development strategies.
About you:
You are proactive, commercially-intelligent and enjoy working in the industrial racking/ warehouse automation space.
You have:
A track-record in B2B sales/ business development, ideally in industrial storage, racking or other industry sector where strong spatial awareness and attention to detail are essential.
* The ability to consult effectively with customers to investigate their current and future needs.
* At least 5 years sales experience in B2B markets. Ideally with system integrator exposure.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong negotiation skills, experience using a consultative selling approach.
* A strong focus on customer needs, delivery on customer expectations and customer satisfaction will be dominant in this role.
* Highest ethical standards and integrity.
* Current Australian drivers license.
* Solid Microsoft Office ability.
* An interest in industrial automation and robotic systems would be advantageous but it is not a prerequisite.
